Oscars night - Look report cards
This year the Academy Awards were full of surprises, but also of predictable moments, the perfect mix for an unforgettable night: from the seven wins of Oppenheimer (out of 13 nominations!), which we all expected, to the unforeseen victory of Emma Stone as best actress (Lily Gladstone seemed to be favored).
As always, the ceremonies were the perfect opportunity for actors and celebrities to show up and show off. Even though cinema is the main star of the night, fashion finds its way to peek through.
Let’s have a look at the most iconic outfits of the night.
Emma Stone’s dress broke ‘during I’m just Ken I believe’, as she herself said while accepting the Oscar, so, eventually, everything worked out for the best.
She wore a custom made Louis Vuitton, a mint dress with exaggerated peplum.
Zendaya has been under the spotlight recently, as she has been nailing every single outfit for the premiere of Dune II, always presenting something new and unseen.
She makes no exception tonight, wearing a detailed Armani Privè gown that harmoniously hugs her figure.
Margot Robbie in custom Versace was a shock for many: black instead of pink? For Barbie?
For the first time after the film release, the actress has not followed the theme her character has set so bluntly. And maybe, just maybe, it was a silent act of protest, a remark at how not a single one of the women involved in the creation of the film were nominated this year.
Everything else aside, she looked impeccable, as always, dressing in a beautiful and shiny gown that was perfectly draped at the waist.
Emily Blunt’s and Florence Pugh’s dresses had floating straps, slightly raised from the shoulders.
One unmistakable detail in common, even though they were dressed by very different designers (Schiaparelli for the first, Del Core for the second). Was this intentional matching? Is this a new trend alert we have to look out for?
After all, this wouldn’t be the first time some new fashion element makes his debut during the Oscars.
The men, even if notoriously less flamboyant than the women, did not disappoint tonight.
Especially Ryan Gosling, who wore a silver lined Gucci tux with an open black shirt for the red carpet, to then switch into a hot pink one for the performance of ‘I’m just Ken’ on stage. The energy was unmatched.
Colman Domingo in Louis Vuitton brough an unusual and fresh silhouette to the scene, with shiny buttons and detailed cowboy boots.
