Caffè tendenza - Silver ballet-flats, spring's it shoe
Ballerinas, the youth-icon shoes that were popular in the 2000s thanks to Kate Moss, are making a comeback, in a variety of styles, including black, danseuse ballet flats studded, like AlaÏa’s vision, velvet (Italy’s gem, friulane), and even the rock and roll featuring ballet gore vibe in Miu Miu's version, an all time favourite since their debut in 2016, popularised by artists from Taylor Swift to Rihanna, bringing us full circle to the early 2010s.
The silver ballet flat emerges from all these alterations; brands like Chanel and Dior showed off glittery variations of iconic designs during the most recent fashion week, and Maison Margiela debuted a new style, Tabi, in metallic leather. All which are to be appropriated and reimagined in various street-style versions.
Milanesi a Milano’s team, has carefully curated a guide from brunch to aperitivo, on how to style your new spring must have, silver ballet-flats.
HOW TO WEAR THEM:
Brunch
Boyfriend style relaxed fitted jeans, white t-shirt, blazer or cardigan to pair it up with. Ballet flats in addition to complete the look.
Office Attire
Denim jumpsuit, Camel trench coat, and silver ballerinas. An all time effortless yet chic look, for a casual Friday at work.
On a more formal matter, shorts, tights, a bow tie shirt, to pair it up with a bomber jacket in wool, for the still chilly mornings of spring, and our favourite ballet flats.
L’apero
Glitter sequin dress, with a trench coat as a cover up, matching with the leather ballerinas.
