Design Reflections
Here we are after these two intense but wonderful weeks (at least for me, who unexpectedly found a new job) hit by a tropical heat to find out what happened again.
I decide almost as a matter of course to cover a subject that is very dear to me, as it is one of my great passions, but how could I fail to mention the importance of Design in these weeks during the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
You will say, what does that have to do with it?
Well, I find that Fashion and Design go hand in hand, in fact they collaborate with each other and give rise to memorable installations and creations.
What's more, the Design sector after the two long years of pandemic has re-emerged and can lend a hand in restoring the glory of the Fashion sector as well, which was deeply affected by the various lockdowns, but never went down.
More and more brands are diversifying into Design, finding in it another way to express their creativity and expression.
Milan during the Salone del Mobile week, thanks to the Fuorisalone, has definitely regained that fervour and desire to experience the city that had been missing for some time: installations, openings of new venues, events, cocktail parties, exhibitions, presentations of new products, hotel openings... Culture, Design and Fashion intertwine and give life to numerous districts of the city such as Tortona, Nolo, Brera!
Among the historical names taking part in the Fuorisalone we saw Missoni, Louis Vuitton with Objets Nomades (which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year), Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Versace, Roberto Cavalli, many historical pioneers of Made in Italy. In addition, 'new entries' such as Dolce&Gabbana and Dsquared2 also participated, as well as the world of jewelry with Swarovski with Rosenthal or Buccellati with Ginori 1735.
The energy offered by the Fuorisalone involves all aspects of the fashion world and the result is streets like colorful catwalks and fairytale-like, dreamlike, living environments. And this is because it offers even those who are not experts in the field the chance to immerse themselves in the world of Design and to appreciate all its facets, from the simplest to the most exuberant like the numerous installations we have seen in the streets of the city center.
Milan becomes even more exciting for non-professionals: from early in the morning until late at night, the streets of Milan are filled with various types of artistic events: former industrial areas, bars and workshops open their doors to all design enthusiasts with product exhibitions, shows, aperitifs, parties, performances, talk shows and interesting encounters!
Milan has literally been invaded by fashion and design addicts from all parts of the globe. Therefore, the city does not miss an opportunity to organize events to promote its creative yet intellectual image.
If you missed the opportunity to drop by the Fuorisalone, don't think twice next year! Experience the 'Big City Life'!
